Education & Training

CivilTrain is the national brand for the training operations of the Civil Contractors Federation.

The CCF currently has Registered Training Organisations operating under the Civil Train brand in five states: New South Wales, Victoria, Queensland, South Australia and Western Australia.

Programs offered include qualifications under the nationally recognised Civil Construction Training Package and various state endorsed industry and regulatory courses.

CivilTrain (CCF's training arm) is a Registered Training Organisation (RTO).Civil Train offers a range of training services including "stand-alone" accredited courses, e.g. Worksite Traffic Management, Plant Operator Assessments and Trade Level Training.

CCF Training Benefits Include: As a Registered Training Organisation (RTO), CCF's quality training and resources are regularly audited by government to ensure compliance with the requirements of the Australian Quality Training Framework (AQTF).Constant revision of the CCF Training Program ensures that industry needs are represented. CCF has a consultative committee which represents contractors' interests by monitoring the relevance of the training program.

CivilTrain trainers and assessors all have significant civil construction industry experience and must meet strict guidelines as set out by the CCF.

A comprehensive database and carding system has been developed by the CCF and records all training and assessment conducted. This is of direct benefit to contractors who require evidence of skills and training as part of the tendering process.

The Civil Train Advisory Committee

The Civil Train Advisory Committee (CTAC) has been established by the CCF National Board to provide advice on national training operations and policy/advocacy matters. Trevor Gosatti is the Committee Chairman.

National Skills Project

Australia's civil construction industry is a cornerstone of Australian industry. Like many other industries, it is facing significant challenges in terms of skilled employees due to issues such as the ageing of the workforce. Construction Skills Queensland

90% of building and construction companies in Queensland are currently experiencing difficulties finding skilled labour. This skills shortage has been further exacerbated by the continued growth across the industry. It has been forecast that over the next 10 years Queensland will require more than 30,000 skilled workers in civil construction.
